Can't do it, would love to, but can't. I listend to the new album, I am impressed I won't lie, but Journey without Steve just won't ever do...

Much like the day Gygax died, Journey without Perry leading is empty in my heart.

Oh, my goodness! I have been waiting for the Journey CD to come out... Finally, I got one from Wal-Mart. Just $11 something.... it is awesome...

I listen to the CD again and again and again... specially Don't Stop Believing, Faithfully, Separate Ways... Arnel Pineda's vocal is just soooo amazing... you've gotta listen to it to believe that Steve Perry's vocal is re-incarnated... Now, I am becoming Hindu. ;-)

Amazing vocal! I stated to have goose bumps now...

hey Ken,

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I totally agree with you - Steve Perry reuniting with Journey would be absolutely fantastic. Perry is a true rock icon and will never be forgotten. But sadly, Perry has stated a number of times in interviews that he's not interested in touring. and if I had to guess, it probably has something to do with his diminished vocal range. even former manager Herbie Herbert confirms that Perry can't hit those glorious high notes like he used to. So I respect Perry's decision to bow out gracefully from performing instead of tarnishing his vocal legacy by going out there on the road and not be able to sound like he did back in the early eighties.

as for Journey Live - even though it's not Steve Perry, I'm going to still see them on this tour. There's just nothing like hearing these legendary musicians (Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Jonathan Cain and Deen Castronovo) play these classic songs live in front of an audience. and to have someone like Arnel Pineda with them to sing these songs in the original key is just icing on the cake. :)

Well, I have been a Journey fan since I was a teen, and today I am 40. I told myself that I would NEVER buy a Journey CD that was led by Steve Perry's vocals. But along came this one! It is the first Journey CD I have purchased since "Greatest Hits Live". I must say that the new singer is so close to Perry on the new stuff that I just imagine that he is! I have no need to see them in concert anymore, the last show I saw was in 1986! If I want classic Journey I can always listen to my collection, and If I want "Steve Perry" singing something new, I can listen to "Revelation"!
Shoot, the band has all but laid out the red carpet for Perry to come back. All he needs to do is learn a few of the songs off "Revelation" and BINGO! He's back!! But, oh well, can always hope.

I saw a piece on the "CBS Sunday Morning" program last week, about how Journey got their hands on Arnel Pineda. What a crazy story! His voice is so close to Steve Perry's. Close my eyes, and I'm in 1983 again. I'm happy for their second success. Loved a lot of their stuff.
