Paul McCartney – Ringo Starr – Radio City Music Hall – 2009
Paul McCartney got back together with Ringo Starr on stage this past weekend to benefit The David Lynch Foundation’s
drive to bring Transcendental Meditation to our troubled schools. The April 4th concert was held at New York’s Radio City Music Hall and the event was hosted by Mr. David Lynch himself.
the highlight was of course reuniting Starr and McCartney on stage. The former Beatles performed separate sets during the evening and then got together for three songs that concluded the event: With a Little Help from My Friends, Cosmically Conscious and I Saw Her Standing There.
Other artists that performed at the show included: Eddie Vedder, Ben Harper, Moby, Donovan and Sheryl Crow.

I want to cry.
Ringo’s voice sounds very hoarse.
I Saw Her Standing There sounds good. It’s one of my favorite songs.
Back in High School one of my friends got entrenched in TM. She eventually moved to Iowa and went to the institute and has practiced and taught TM her entire life. We pretty much lost contact but I hope she saw this reunion and thought of me.
The concert was fantastic (and was recorded for PBS) as this cast of legendary musicians flowed through set after set of inspiring rock and roll with many artists making guest appearances on songs for others. During the many stage set ups David Lynch, Laura Dern, Howard Stern and Jerry Seinfeld added comments and comedy on the positive influence Transcendental Meditation has had in their lives. Background film clips of youngsters in schools around the world who practice TM gave us hope for a new era of peace and happiness. A charming and delightful evening that transcended all my expectations! http://www.tm.org
