Now that most folks have gotten themselves ready for the nationwide switchover to digital TV, HD programming is in high demand. Cable companies such as Charter are in a good position to increase their customer base with the recent proliferation of new flat panel HDTV owners. Receiving over-the-air HD programming is pretty spotty at best. My parents have a 52-inch plasma that they rarely use except for viewing movies on DVD since they can only get a couple of stations using their over-the-air HD receiver. I think they’re finally on the verge of signing up for HD cable service especially after seeing the pristine HD images I get from my cable provider.
