The long wait for coaster enthusiasts is almost over. SeaWorld’s much hyped Manta flying roller coaster is scheduled to open May 22nd. With over 3,000 feet of track and the highest peak reaching 140 feet, the Manta is the 2nd fastest/longest “flying coaster” in the world. It’s called a flying coaster because you are suspended underneath the coaster which gives riders the sensation of flight. In addition to the thrill of feeling like you’re flying the coaster features four inversions including a 98 feet tall pretzel loop and two corkscrews. Another feature that I like is the aquarium specifically designed for the new attraction which is viewable while waiting in line. The 184,000 gallon aquarium will feature 300 different rays as well as sea horses, sea dragons and a variety of exotic fish. Needless to say, it’s a highly anticipated attraction. And as you would expect for any new coaster, the wait times will probably be extremely long. But there’s a way to earn a *free pass* to the front of the Manta line. Just head over to RideManta.com and simply participate in all six online activities to get your pass. The activities are pretty straight forward which includes a Manta quiz, sharing a photo on flickr and creating a video for youtube. And don’t fret about not being able to complete all six tasks. By just completing two of them, you can earn a free photo of your manta ride. Now that they have this new coaster along with their amazing “bubble-blowing” dolphins, SeaWorld Orlando is simply THE family vacation destination of the summer.

  1. Cool, a new coaster, who doesn’t love a roller coaster and the aquarium, is cool too!

  2. yeah, my oldest son can ride roller coasters ALL DAY if he wanted. I’ve gotten to a point where I can’t keep up. Now that I’m not a “kid” anymore, I”ve found that I need to spread out some of the more “difficult” rides throughout the day and NOT all in a row. heh.

  3. Yeah, the older I get the more I like to stick to the roller coasters w/out all the loops in it…lol
We went to Kings Island in Ohio a few years back and that’s when I found out that roller coasters with loops are no longer for me. We rode one similar to this new one where you sat in it and were underneath it instead of on top and it had loops in it and the very first loop we went through, somehow my head got thrown forward and I couldn’t get it back, had to ride with my head extended forward through most of the ride, just about when the end of the ride was in sight is when my head snapped backwards again and I ended up with whiplash for the rest of the trip. I’ve been leery of those loops ever since…heh!
But my kids still love riding even the one’s with loops.

  4. The only reason for me to get on that thing is if someone paid to see what I had for breakfast that morning. Yeah 10doll’s for sure no roller coaster gal!
