All I get from this show is that "employee abuse" is going on. Cheston is new, hes got to learn the job, its up to the others to train him, and Cheston has to prove himself. But " rite of passage” doesnt mean he has to be abused by his fellow workers. Driller Pee-Wee doesn’t want the newbie around and is actually gunning for him to get fired, to porpusly get another employee fired just because you dont like him is "employee abuse by employee". As long as Cheston learns the job, does what he is suppost to do, works hard, and works safely he he shouldnt have to put up with any workplace abuse. In California an employee is protected from all abuse from other employees and as well as their employer. Even Pee Wees immediat supervisor allows this abuse to continue and it appears that the supervisors supervisor allows it too. To allow a hostile work enviorment is a violation of "safety in the workplace" codes set forth in the Federal Fair Employment Guidelines. Now that this abuse is documented on tape, I feel that Cheston has a good reason to sue his employer for creating and allowing a "hostile work enviorment". I know I would. I find it hard to belive that this goes on, on every drilling rig. Is it done for the benifent of the show? I relise that this type of employment is dangerous and hard work, but the more you push it, the odds of something bad happening increases. To disreguard any safety factors to get the job done in record time is irresponsible on the part of the employer, supervisors and employees.
