Boost Mobile offering CDMA Sanyo Incognito phone

January 30, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Boost Mobile. All opinions are 100% mine.

Over the past year, Boost Mobile had a hugely successful ad campaign with their $50 monthly unlimited plan. Millions of savvy cell users flocked over to Boost where there are no long-term contracts and no hidden fees. It’s simply $50 bucks for unlimited calling, texting and web access with no additional fees and even tax is included. The hurdle that Boost was facing with all these additional customers was the strain put on the old Nextel iDEN network. The iDEN technology was never designed for multimedia and high speed internet access let alone the incredible demand from all the new customers wanting unlimited access. Well this month Boost unveiled a new line of phones utilizing Sprint’s CDMA network. Boost seems to realize the limitations of the iDEN network and is now offering an option for those users that want Boost’s unlimited plan WITH the power of Sprint’s 3G web access.

SANYO Incognito is one of the new phones available now through Boost. The Incognito™ SCP6760 features a full QWERTY keyboard, a 2MP camera, video/music capabilities, bluetooth and GPS. The phone is the perfect choice for those wanting to take advantage of the speed of the 3G network but not wanting to pay a premium for it. I’m glad to see Boost expanding their line of phones beyond those iDEN based Motorolas. I like the iDEN band for their ability to get their signal through thick office building walls better than other networks but I was never impressed by those cumbersome Motorola phones. With the new Sanyo Incognito™, you lose the iDEN signal advantage but you end up gaining a whole lot more with access to the 3G network.

The Boost version of the Incognito™ is priced at $129.99 which may seem more expensive than what it’s priced for with other providers but you have to remember that Boost doesn’t lock you into a two-year contract. And because there isn’t a contract, there isn’t much of a discount on the phones. But in my opinion, I’d rather pay for the phone upfront than get chained to a wireless phone company for two LONG years. Get smart and say so long to contract-based phone companies. Get Boost Unlimited today!

  1. We are waiting to be where we can leave AT&T. Sweety had mentioned Boost but honestly? I didn’t like any of their phones. They all looked kind of cheap to me. This looks cool though!

  2. but how can you live without your iPhone, Chickie? I don’t think there’s an iPhone equivalent on Boost yet. hopefully they’ll have one soon.

the thing with Boost is to figure out which Boost network is better in your area, iDEN (nextel) or CDMA (sprint network). for instance, at my house, I get good iDEN signal but get no signal on CDMA (sprint). plus I get get a signal at work with iDEN where as CDMA can’t get past our exterior wall.

  3. now thats a nice fone, but i think they cud have put in a better camera

  4. i cant find this phone anywhere in my town………… ughhhh

  5. I cant find it anywhere either. The phone is in such demand that it is on back order.

  6. I saw the Incognito in-stock at the local Best Buy a couple days ago.

  7. any body have any luck finding it???

  8. on the one hand, it’s great to see that the Incognito is a hot item for Boost but obviously they’re having a tough time keeping up with demand.

the only thing I can say is keep checking your local Best Buy or Radio Shack.

    good luck!

  9. For those who can’t find one, try Radioshack, if you have them in your respective areas.

  10. oops, retroDan already said that.

  11. I been trying for weeks to get this phone, no one has it in stock. Just got on ebay, surprise surprise buy it now price at $299.99. This phone is only available in stores, you can’t but it from the boost website. This is ridiculous!!!

  12. U can only buy it in stores because they are being eaten up. Everyone and their bother wants one including me. Do what I did… Go down to Wireless Toys or radioshack or bestbuy and ask if they can put u on the list. Give them ur number and ask them to call you as soon as more come in and hope u get one. Thats ur best bet until they can produce more phones.

  13. I been looking like crazy for this phone so sadddddddd no body has it why? hope i can get it soon.

  14. They had some day before yesterday at Douglasville, GA Radio Shack inside of the mall.

  15. Best Buy in Arundel Mills Mall (Hanover, Md.) had 6 yesterday, but no other Best Buy in Md has them right now. As stated, available only in-store, but they will hold one at customer service for 1hr. I just got one yesterday. Can’t figure out what’s the big buzz… No SIM card means a pain to transfer your contacts and if the phone should ever drop or get damaged… Also, heavier and made cheaper than the Motorola i465.

  16. ughhh i kant find anything nowhere i kant find the fone! ANYWHERE anyy ideas???

  17. I just bought this phone, and used it once, now whenever I make a call or someone tries to call me.. they can’t hear me AT ALL.. I can hear them. They say it’s like the mute button is on or something. I’m taking it back to the sprint store today to see what the problem is! It’s frustrating.. I lost 3 days of prepaid for a phone that isn’t working for me. On another note, I like the phone, it’s a neat little phone. Hopefully this won’t be an on going problem with this phone

  18. this phone is impossible to find i look every where

  19. THIS PHONE IS AT ANY SPRINT STORE. I DONT THINK YOU SHOULD BUT IT, I HAVE IT AND IT FREEZES ALL THE TIME. NO LIE. SO I TOOK IT BACK AND GOT A NEW ONE, SAME PROBLEM. UGH

  20. <–NICOLEE the phone at the sprint store will NOT work on the boost network and requires you to commit to a sprint 2 yr contract (that is why they have lots of them) also I have had the incognito for boost for a couple weeks now and this phone has been rock solid and has NEVER FROZE UP

  21. I have no problems with the service. It’s annoying to get use to (locking the keys so you don’t hang up on your call), but the service is great. Easy for text and email. Surfs the web with no problem. You do have to scroll with the arrow keys. To get Youtube…you have to go to tools and update phone. After that, youtube is great. I see the phones at BEST BUY all the time.

  22. this fone is awsome;; boost is coming
up with cool fones;;if I were to recommend a phone it will be this one

  23. I’ve had this phone for about 6 months and it’s been working fine til about a week ago. It’s starting to freeze more often and the outer touch screen hardly works. Whenever I slide the lock key the touch screen stays on for like 2-3 seconds then it’ll turn the touch part off by itself. It’s really frustrating and idk if I can take it in to get a new one for free?

  24. Christinaaa, I guess it depends on if you purchased an extended warranty. But in any case, I would recommend contacting Sanyo customer service with your problems.
