Todd Rundgren – 2010 Healing/Todd album tour – plus webcast
After the successful run of A Wizard a True Star album shows last year, Todd Rundgren is ready to do a follow-up. This time around, he’s revisiting TWO classic albums – Todd (1974) and Healing (1981). That’s right, Rundgren will be performing both albums in their entirety!! And once again, working behind the scenes to bring these shows to the fans are Doug and Mel of Rundgren Radio. As most TR fans know, Rundgren Radio has been instrumental in promoting/sponsoring TR gigs these last few years including AWATS, some “Robert Johnson” gigs and now the Todd/Healing shows. Without RR, this Todd/Healing tour probably wouldn’t have happened especially since no other concert promoter has stepped up to take the tour beyond the 6 initial gigs Rundgren Radio has put together.
If you haven’t done so already, head over to ticketmaster to purchase your tickets to one of these 6 shows. It doesn’t appear likely that Todd will be bringing this show anywhere else so if you love these two albums, this’ll be your only chance to hear the songs live in their entirety.
But if you can’t make the drive, you’re still in luck!! Rundgren will also be providing a pay-per-view webcast of the September 14th show at the Keswick Theatre via todocast. head over to the todocast site for more info.
So, here are the dates/locations for the 6 Todd/Healing album shows in September produced by Rundgren Radio:

These are definitely two of my fave todd albums (TR's Utopia, Ballad, Wizard & Initiation round out my top 5). Drove down from Saratoga, NY to NJ for Todd/Healing live. The whole show was just completely brilliant. Todd's voice was as good as i've ever heard him (my first Todd show - Acapella Tour '85 Poughkeepsie, NY). I brought two friends who were not familiar with his music and they came back very changed.
I have friends on the west coast who were praying he'd make it out there to do these live. I think I'd fly out to see this performance again. Fave moments: Don't You Ever Learn, Shine, Healer, I Think You Know and Healing1-3.
todd the nite you gave to us was just like a DREAM IT'S LIKE LET ME GO BACK TO SLEEP AND DO IT AGAIN

...a magical night.
fantastic photos! thanks for sharing them here.
and thanks to all for posting about the shows. I still can't believe no other concert promoter wanted to take this show to other cities. what a shame.
big props to Doug and Mel for putting together this tour. it wouldn't have happened without them.
Saw last night's show at the Keswick in PA. Can not overstate how blown away I was. Both albums were played flawlessly, but it was much more than that. The room was filled with joy and magic. Songs that never quite clicked from both albums made perfect sense in this context. The show ended with Sons of 1984 (the only song performed out of order). The curtain closed on the musicians and a choir as the band and the audiance repeated the closing coda...Worlds of Tomorrow, Life without sorrow, Take it because it's yours, Sons of 1984...over and over. When the band finally stopped the audiance kept that chant going with just their voices and handclaps for what seemed like five minutes. We knew there would be no encore. We just did it because it sounded good, it felt good and we believed in Todd's vision. You had to be there I guess but those who were know what I mean...still gives me chills when I recall it. My wife felt it too and she's wasn't really even a fan, but she is now. Go see this show if you can...
Attended the 14Sep2010 in Glenside last night and am still awestruck. He never ceases to amaze. Great show on all fronts.
Personally, I loved the Todd Rundgren TODD/HEALING show in Akron, OH on 9-5-10; possibly the best TR show I've ever seen (dating back to 7-4-75 Nelson Ledges Speedway OH Another Live - Willie's 1st show with Utopia); definitely the best since the Nearly Human tour! Todd's voice was "spot on" all night, the light show was great, loved Prairie's tap dancing on Useless Begging, and the choir added something special. Vicki and I were glad to hang out at the Barley House with Roger & Susan Steel and Brian & Mary Tapp before the show.
there are some great youtube videos from the Akron show.
here's the final song of the night - "Sons of 1984". sounds fantastic!
